Biography
Marsel van Oosten swopped an award-winning career in advertising for nature and wildlife photography after his interest flourished following a trip to Tanzania. Dutch-born Marsel’s photographs demonstrate his mastery of composition, lighting, colour and perspective. His work is featured in galleries and museums, and used in advertising, design and editorial features. His numerous awards include the International Photography Awards (first prize, 2008; third prize, 2009), European Wildlife Photographer of the Year (first prize, 2009), Nature Photographers Network Awards (first prize, 2009), Travel Photographer of the Year Awards (second prize, 2008) and the National Geographic/PDN Travel Photography Competition (winner, 2007). Together, Marsel and his partner, Daniëlla Sibbing, run Squiver Photo Tours, specializing in nature photography tours to some of the world’s most desirable destinations.
